About the Role
The Team Lead – Press is responsible for daily lead duties for the press team, including assigning work, monitoring progress, enforcing PPE and safety, and directing employees. They also serve as a backup for the supervisor when needed and can support the process technician. In this role the lead must understand press processes, run the press, and troubleshoot minor issues while training new associates. They oversee the production line to meet schedule, manage work assignments and production paperwork, verify accuracy, complete SAP confirmations, print work orders, and distribute shift reports. Additionally they ensure housekeeping, replenish consumables, monitor employee break times, provide performance feedback, and enforce safety and policy compliance. • Run the press and troubleshoot minor press issues. • Train new associates on press processes and procedures. • Assign daily work and monitor production staff progress. • Verify and complete production paperwork and SAP confirmations. • Print work orders and distribute pass‑down notes, end‑of‑shift reports, and effectivity sheets. • Maintain clean work areas and ensure proper housekeeping. • Replenish consumables and manage inventory as needed. • Monitor employee break times and report early/late returns. • Provide honest, timely feedback to the supervisor on employee performance. • Lead by example, enforcing all policies, procedures and safety guidelines. • Hold pre‑shift/tier 1 meetings when required. • Monitor part quality, assist casters with issues, and conduct retraining. • Foster good working relationships with other departments. • Enforce safety requirements and ensure team compliance.

What You Bring
To succeed, candidates must be in good standing (no more than one active disciplinary write‑up and one attendance point), demonstrate strong ethical standards, and possess excellent communication and leadership skills. They should be organized, able to work independently or within a team, have completed at least 90 days of employment, and hold a high school diploma, GED or equivalent. Experience with SAP and Office 365 is preferred, though the ability to learn these tools is acceptable.
