Senior Account Executive, Public Sector (Remote in NE Wisconsin/Upper Peninsula of Michigan)
Manage public sector contracts, build community relations, and drive sales for WM.

About the Role
The role leverages sales expertise and subject‑matter knowledge to promote and support sales and service activities for public‑sector customers within a designated area. It employs a consultative selling approach to retain and expand business with existing WM customers while fostering effective relationships with WM's franchise operations across cities, counties, and special districts. • Manage existing contracts, including terms, service offerings, price adjustments, and extensions. • Maintain and enhance customer relationships through community involvement and events. • Coordinate with internal WM departments to meet contract and service expectations. • Develop strategies to increase service offerings and wallet share on existing contracts. • Utilize contract management, audit, and revenue acceleration tools to maximize value and compliance. • Shape RFPs and proposals to align customer needs with WM offerings. • Build community partnerships with elected officials and stakeholders to generate positive press. • Provide political strategy insights and support community activities. • Oversee bid responses, conduct pricing analysis, and prepare required documentation. • Create marketing strategies to identify retention and growth opportunities. • Participate in ongoing training to enhance skills.

What You Bring
Although the position is remote, the employee must reside in northeastern Wisconsin or Michigan's Upper Peninsula based on business needs and will travel regularly to customer locations within the region. The representative acts as a liaison with local officials, community stakeholders, and associated businesses, utilizing various media channels to disseminate publicity and goodwill information about WM. • Required: Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, Communications, Political Science, Economics, or related field. • Required: Minimum five years of relevant experience in government relations, outside sales, public service, or similar. • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in a related field and five+ years of applicable experience.
