About the Role

Based in Terrace, British Columbia, the Mechanical Engineer will contribute to both greenfield and brownfield projects in the industrial and mining sectors, applying mechanical and piping expertise from conceptual design through to project completion. The role involves designing systems, preparing technical documentation, supporting field activities, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure cost‑effective, timely delivery. • Design piping systems, mechanical equipment, and process components, selecting rotating and static equipment. • Create 2D and 3D general arrangement drawings and develop layout plans. • Perform engineering calculations and review/seal engineering documents. • Prepare technical specifications, datasheets, requisitions, and support bid evaluations. • Attend client sites for construction reviews and participate in project meetings. • Build and maintain strong client relationships with prompt, professional communication. • Enforce health and safety policies throughout all project phases. • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure quality, cost‑effective, and timely delivery.

What You Bring

Candidates should have at least five years of mechanical or piping engineering experience in industrial or mining environments, hold a valid P.Eng licence in British Columbia, and be familiar with ASME, API, MSS, ASTM, NFPA, and CSA standards. Strong communication skills, a team‑oriented mindset, a valid driver’s licence, and willingness to travel are essential, while exposure to power plants, mills, or pulp and paper projects and French language ability are advantageous. • Minimum 5 years experience in mechanical/piping engineering within industrial or mining design. • Licensed Professional Engineer (P.Eng) in British Columbia. • Proficient with ASME, API, MSS, ASTM, NFPA, and CSA standards. • Experience with pipe stress analysis tools (e.g., CAESAR II) considered an asset. • Strong written and verbal English communication; proficient in Microsoft Office. • Valid driver’s licence and willingness to travel to project sites; French language skills a plus.
