About the Role
Sunbelt Rentals, the fastest growing rental business in North America, is seeking a Service Manager. The Service Manager will oversee the repair and maintenance of company‑owned and customer equipment, ensure timely service calls, manage parts inventory, and maintain accurate service records. This role also includes training staff mechanics, coordinating with vendors, handling customer complaints, and generating various performance and financial reports. • Manage repair and maintenance of company‑owned and customer equipment, organizing yard status (Ready to Rent, Returned, Down) • Prepare work schedules and handle service calls to meet customer needs and ensure equipment availability • Order parts to maintain adequate supplies • Provide training and assistance to staff mechanics • Collaborate with equipment vendors to learn maintenance requirements of new inventory • Evaluate equipment after repairs, maintenance, or safety checks • Document equipment status before and after rental • Handle customer complaints regarding equipment condition or operation • Promote safety awareness and perform quality control checks • Update, maintain, and organize equipment service records • Create, update, close, and bill work orders • File warranty claims promptly • Commission new equipment • Manage parts inventory, including ordering, returning, and disposal of solid and hazardous waste • Generate reports on equipment service, fleet status, work orders, warranty claims, inventory, financial trends, department performance, and labor hours

What You Bring
Qualified candidates must hold a valid driver’s license, have extensive experience maintaining self‑propelled platforms and lifts, and possess strong planning, scheduling, and supervisory skills. Additional requirements include computer literacy, reporting and inventory management experience, and a clear understanding of equipment safety standards. The position involves physical tasks such as bending, squatting, and lifting 50 lb or more, both indoors and outdoors. • Valid driver’s license • Extensive experience repairing and maintaining self‑propelled platforms and lifts • Knowledge of work planning, scheduling, and supervisory activities • Strong understanding of equipment capabilities and safety requirements • Clear perspective on maintenance and repair issues in the industry • Planning and management experience • Computer literacy • Reporting experience • Inventory management experience
