About the Role

Primary duties include installation, maintenance, and removal of overhead and underground distribution conductors and equipment. Workers must be able to climb poles, handle energized conductors, perform hot‑stick work, and operate in inclement weather and callout situations. • Install, maintain, and remove overhead and underground distribution equipment. • Perform hot‑stick work on energized high‑voltage conductors. • Respond to after‑hour emergency callouts in all weather conditions. • Operate bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers, and other utility line crew equipment. • Maintain physical stamina for climbing poles, lifting, and confined‑space work. • Follow all company safety rules and participate in random DOT drug/alcohol testing.

What You Bring

Candidates must be high‑school graduates (or equivalent) with a technical lineman degree preferred, and be a Fifth Step Apprentice or higher with knowledge of distribution and transmission construction, maintenance, and operation. Required skills include strong communication, teamwork, and experience with bucket trucks, digger derricks, trenchers, and utility line crew tasks. The position demands physical stamina for lifting, climbing, confined‑space work, and the ability to travel and work away from home. Applicants must reside within 20 mi of the Ashland Service Center, hold a valid Class A CDL, and satisfy FMCSR driver qualification standards.
