Join our Downer Professional Services team to support complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. We are seeking skilled professionals with defence or defence‑industry experience for permanent roles. We are looking for professionals whose experience aligns with a range of engineering disciplines within the defence sector, from systems and integration to cyber and combat engineering. Successful candidates will bring prior defence or consulting experience, hands‑on engineering expertise, the ability to lead and consult on projects, strong stakeholder collaboration skills, and a recognised engineering qualification. The role requires a current Negative Vetting Level 1 (or higher) security clearance, with possible compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) depending on the project. • Prior experience in Defence or consulting services industries • Proven work in Land, Communications, Navy, Space, or other defence sectors • Experience with Validation & Verification (V&V), Test & Evaluation (T&E), system design, safety engineering or system specifications • Strong hands‑on engineering background with ability to consult and lead projects • Demonstrated collaborative team and stakeholder management skills • Qualified/certified engineer or equivalent engineering qualification • Current Negative Vetting Level 1 (or higher) security clearance; ITAR compliance may be required
