About the Role
The Southeast Area Environmental Planning and Permitting (EPP) Department Manager will lead approximately 60 professionals across the southeastern United States, serving federal, state, local, and private clients. The role focuses on driving revenue growth, managing the department’s profit and loss, ensuring high staff utilization, and mentoring staff while maintaining quality, safety, and performance. • Lead and develop department staff, fostering technical expertise and growth. • Oversee financial performance, P&L, and business plan execution for the EPP department. • Review proposals for technical and financial accuracy. • Advise regional managers on growth, recruitment, retention, and technical strategy. • Serve as project manager, lead verifier, or technical lead as needed. • Collaborate with Project Delivery Leads to enhance financial outcomes and client satisfaction. • Drive business development and regional client management initiatives. • Resolve operational challenges and establish standards for natural resource activities. • Direct associate work across varied tasks and apply deep subject‑matter expertise. • Mentor and retain staff at all levels.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a BA/BS in environmental sciences (or equivalent) with at least ten years of relevant experience, including two years in a leadership role, a valid driver’s license, and U.S. citizenship. Preferred qualifications include an advanced degree (MA/MS or MBA) and fifteen or more years of natural‑resource investigation experience related to southeastern permitting, as well as demonstrated ability to manage interdisciplinary teams and complex fiscal responsibilities. • BA/BS in Environmental Sciences (or equivalent) with 10+ years experience, including 2 years leadership. • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass motor‑vehicle records check. • U.S. citizenship required. • Preferred: MA/MS in Environmental Sciences and/or MBA. • Preferred: 15+ years in natural‑resource investigations for southeastern permitting. • Proven experience managing interdisciplinary teams and complex fiscal reporting.
