About the Role
Working alongside senior engineers, specialist designers, and technical leads, you will help deliver high‑quality outcomes to clients. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include managing Development Application and Subdivision Works Certificate projects from initiation through construction, maintaining project programs and budgets, preparing civil engineering documentation, applying engineering knowledge to drawings and calculations, supervising sites and conducting quality‑control inspections, and handling contract administration tasks such as reviewing drawings and responding to RFIs. • Manage client‑facing Development Application and Subdivision Works Certificate projects from initiation to construction. • Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and delivery timelines to ensure profitability. • Prepare and update civil engineering documents, including design reports, cost estimates, specifications, and tender packages. • Apply civil engineering expertise to produce drawings, calculations, and design criteria for land development and infrastructure projects. • Conduct site supervision and quality‑control inspections, ensuring compliance with design specs, safety protocols, and government standards. • Review engineering drawings and submittals, respond to RFIs, produce site observation reports, and handle contract administration tasks.

What You Bring
Stantec is seeking an experienced Project Manager/Civil Engineer to join its Project Delivery Team in NSW, supporting the Community Development business based in Sydney or Wollongong. The role involves client‑facing project management, internal design coordination, engineering assessment, stakeholder engagement, and exposure to construction‑phase tasks, ensuring all work meets relevant standards, specifications, and drawings. The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, has at least three years of experience in project management, civil engineering, or site supervision of land development and infrastructure projects, and possesses Engineers Australia membership or eligibility. Strong technical expertise, communication skills, time‑management, and a commitment to ongoing professional development are essential. • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering with at least three years of relevant project management or site supervision experience. • Possess Engineers Australia membership or eligibility and strong knowledge of civil drawings, specifications, legislation, and standards. • Demonstrate strong technical, written, and verbal communication skills with effective time‑management and delegation abilities.
