About the Role

The Pipe Welder role focuses on delivering high‑quality welds on carbon‑steel piping systems for commercial construction and mechanical projects. The position supports HVAC, plumbing, and process‑piping installations by performing safe, precise, and efficient welds in line with project specifications and industry standards. • Weld carbon steel pipe and structural components using SMAW, FCAW, and GMAW. • Follow supervisor instructions and adhere to specifications, drawings, and blueprints. • Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment safely. • Prepare pipe surfaces by grinding, beveling, aligning, and cleaning. • Perform tack welding and basic fitting to support installation. • Conduct visual inspections, identify defects, and adjust as needed. • Comply with safety standards, wear PPE, and attend safety meetings. • Keep work areas clean, organized, and hazard‑free. • Support pipefitters and other field personnel when not welding. • Collaborate with foremen and project teams for efficient workflow. • Produce quality welds on carbon steel using TIG, Stick, or MIG processes. • Read welding symbols, layout instructions, and simple isometric drawings.

What You Bring

• Minimum 3 years welding experience in commercial/industrial settings. • Knowledge of pipe welding fundamentals and basic structural welding. • Physically capable of lifting 50 lb, bending, kneeling, and working in confined or elevated spaces. • Willingness to take and pass required weld tests. • OSHA 10 certification preferred. • Prior experience with mechanical, HVAC, or plumbing piping systems is a plus. • Exposure to TIG welding on stainless steel is beneficial. • Basic understanding of fitting, layout, or rigging techniques.
