About the Role
The technician will diagnose issues such as water‑pressure problems, leaks, clogs, backflow, and fixture malfunctions, perform preventative maintenance, and handle component repairs or installations in accordance with local codes. Clear communication with customers and thorough documentation of all work are essential to building long‑term trust. • Respond promptly to residential and light‑commercial service calls and perform diagnostics using appropriate tools. • Identify and resolve water‑pressure issues, leaks, clogs, backflow, and fixture malfunctions; conduct system tests. • Perform preventative maintenance such as water‑heater flushing, pressure regulator checks, piping inspections, and sump‑pump testing. • Repair or replace water heaters, faucets, toilets, valves, disposals, and piping; install plumbing systems for remodels or commercial projects per code. • Communicate findings and recommendations clearly to customers and advise on water‑saving practices and maintenance plans. • Accurately document all work, complete work orders and service tickets using mobile or paper systems. • Follow safety regulations, handle and dispose of materials properly, and comply with local, state, and federal plumbing codes. • Coordinate with dispatchers and mentor junior technicians, contributing to a positive team culture. • Stand, bend, kneel, or climb ladders for extended periods; operate hand and power tools safely in dusty, hot, moist, or odorous environments.

IES Residential is seeking a highly skilled and customer‑focused Plumbing Service Technician to join its Huntsville, AL team. The role centers on delivering prompt diagnostics, repairs, and routine maintenance for residential and light‑commercial plumbing systems while upholding the company’s standards of safety and service excellence. • High school diploma or GED required; valid driver’s license with a clean record. • Minimum 2 years’ experience servicing residential or light‑commercial plumbing systems. • Proficient with plumbing tools and diagnostic equipment such as cameras, pressure gauges, pipe threaders, and leak detectors. • Knowledge of local plumbing codes, safety regulations, and permit procedures. • Strong communication and customer‑service skills; ability to work independently and manage multiple service calls. • Pass background check and drug screening; hold required plumbing license. • Lift and carry up to 75 lb regularly; work in crawl spaces, attics, basements, rooftops, and confined areas.
