General Laborer 1

About the Role

• Load, unload, and distribute materials as assigned • Dismantle and transport construction materials • Collect and dispose of jobsite trash daily • Clean jobsite trailer and maintain cleanliness • Clean and maintain concrete and forming tools • Operate pumps and equipment for site dewatering • Organize and clean conex containers and gang boxes daily • Perform construction gate duty and flagging responsibilities • Identify materials accurately using MSDS • Operate a buck hoist safely and effectively • Assist with demolition operations • Comply with PPE requirements and OSHA standards • Adhere to all JE Dunn safety standards • Communicate absences or tardiness promptly to supervisor

What You Bring

The General Laborer 1 supports skilled trades on various construction projects, including new builds, renovations, and other types. Responsibilities are varied and may involve site cleanup, material handling, and operating specialized equipment, all performed in line with JE Dunn’s strategy, vision, and values. Key abilities include accurate, timely work; strong verbal and written communication; identification of construction materials and tools; punctuality; a willingness to learn, and teamwork. Preferred qualifications are a high school diploma or GED, vocational or trade training, and up to two years of commercial construction experience, though relevant experience may substitute. The job requires lifting up to 50 lb, exposure to extreme temperatures, non‑traditional hours, reliable transportation, and comfort working at heights, in trenches, or narrow spaces. Physical activities range from frequent standing and walking to occasional sitting at a computer.
