About the Role

The role includes leading the scheduling team, coordinating project schedules, ensuring resources and support for crews, and managing site logistics and relationships with customers, architects, unions, and subcontractors. The senior scheduler also implements the company's Zero Injury Safety Program and handles open shop and union matters. • Oversee all planning and scheduling activities for projects. • Direct, coordinate, and supervise the scheduling team. • Coach, mentor, and train field personnel, forepersons, and assistant superintendents. • Foster a teamwork environment and ensure crews have necessary resources. • Provide work direction, performance evaluations, and assist with hiring decisions. • Develop leadership potential through task assignments and career growth opportunities. • Implement Mortenson’s Zero Injury Safety Program on site. • Manage open shop and union issues and maintain relationships with customers, architects, and subcontractors. • Efficiently manage site work, logistics, and suggest improvements.

What You Bring

Mortenson seeks an experienced Senior Scheduler I who can interact with staff at all levels, adapt to a dynamic environment, and maintain professionalism and confidentiality. This position offers oversight of all planning and scheduling activities for construction projects. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, and have at least four years of construction experience. Strong communication, scheduling expertise, knowledge of construction practices, and the ability to travel extensively are essential. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. • Possess minimum four years of construction experience; project engineer experience is a plus. • Demonstrate strong oral and written communication and active listening skills. • Have thorough knowledge of scheduling concepts, construction practices, and project sequencing. • Be proficient in 4D visual planning, cost‑loaded schedules, and claims avoidance techniques. • Exhibit strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational abilities. • Ability to travel up to 100% and work in cross‑functional, collaborative teams.
