Solar Field Service Technician (Refugio, TX)
Perform field maintenance, testing, and repairs on utility‑scale solar plants.

About the Role
Safety is the top priority, and all employees must follow safe practices while working. Under supervision, the technician will service solar equipment at multiple plants, perform basic testing, troubleshooting, maintenance, and replace or repair parts. The role includes on‑call emergency repairs, accurate documentation of work performed, and collaboration on process improvements and new technologies while upholding SOLV Energy’s diversity and inclusion culture. • Perform basic solar equipment testing, troubleshooting, and maintenance under supervision. • Replace or repair solar parts and equipment as directed. • Respond to on‑call emergency repair requests. • Document work performed and submit accurate reports. • Follow all safety procedures, including Lock Out/Tag Out and NFPA 70e certification. • Operate and care for company tools, equipment, and vehicles. • Assess and suggest process improvements and support new technologies. • Work in remote locations and extreme weather conditions.

What You Bring
Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED (vocational/technical training a plus), demonstrated ability to work in a mechanical/electrical environment, basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic and solar systems, and proficiency with testing equipment. Candidates must obtain NFPA 70e safety certification, maintain current safety training, possess effective English communication skills, hold a valid driver’s license with a satisfactory record, and be able to work remote locations in extreme weather on an on‑call basis. The position requires frequent stooping, bending, crouching, reaching, lifting 50 lb or more, climbing, and working in harsh outdoor conditions with exposure to weather, vibration, dust, fumes, electric shock, and noise. Workers must have good finger dexterity, depth perception, and the ability to see details at close and distance ranges. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and safe driving record. • Meet physical requirements such as lifting 50 lb and occasional climbing.
