About the Role

The successful candidate will work closely with project managers, directors, and colleagues across the GCC to support project delivery, while also coaching team members to enhance their performance. Key duties include overseeing both the technical and commercial aspects of projects, delegating tasks, reviewing work, and managing line responsibilities such as mentoring junior staff and guiding their career progression. The Principal is expected to continuously improve their own professional skills and maintain competencies required by the team and relevant professional bodies. • Lead and grow the Contaminated Land team in India. • Deliver projects in collaboration with project managers, directors, and GCC team members. • Coach and mentor junior staff, ensuring their technical development and career progression. • Oversee technical and commercial delivery, including delegation, work review, and line management. • Maintain and enhance personal professional competencies to meet team and industry standards. • Manage organizational and administrative tasks, applying planning, analysis, and judgment. • Operate within WSP’s hybrid work model, promoting collaboration and product quality. • Contribute to a safe, inclusive, and diverse workplace aligned with WSP’s health‑safety and diversity initiatives.

What You Bring

We are seeking an exceptional individual to lead and expand our Contaminated Land team in India, requiring a minimum of twelve years of post‑graduate experience in the geo‑environmental field. This role is ideal for someone with extensive experience in the contaminated land sector who wishes to further develop leadership and technical consultancy capabilities and contribute to the growth of a high‑performing team. • Possess at least 12 years of post‑graduate Geo‑environmental experience, specifically in contaminated land.
