About the Role

The HVAC Controls Technician role at ALC focuses on field commissioning of custom building automation systems. The successful candidate is self‑motivated, detail‑oriented, customer‑focused, and serves as a technical role model for other field engineers, solving complex problems and providing training and expertise on site. • Initiate, install, troubleshoot, and optimize customer systems using advanced Direct Digital Control technology. • Serve as local contact for technical issues and provide effective solutions for complex system issues. • Deliver turnkey projects on medium to large scale, ensuring proper operation of controls, sensors, and software. • Load software, configure trends, alarms, and reports. • Implement time management strategies to ensure customer satisfaction. • Communicate and document project status and details for the customer. • Provide site‑specific training to owners/operators on the complete system.

ALC’s technology supports today’s and tomorrow’s buildings, requiring diverse talent and skill sets. • High School Diploma or GED. • Minimum 3 years experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a related technical field. • Ability to climb ladders or use lift equipment >8 ft and lift items up to 50 lb. • Valid, current driver’s license and meet company insurance requirements. • Bachelor’s, Associate, or technical certificate in HVAC, Controls, or a related field. • Proficiency with advanced building automation software (e.g., WebCTRL) and installation of controls. • Ability to navigate and integrate various building automation systems. • Expertise with TCP/IP networks, including wireless technology. • Experience handling multiple concurrent challenges across disciplines. • Strong communication skills for non‑technical audiences and teamwork. • Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
