About the Role

The Operations Supervisor – Hauling Operations oversees collection activities for commercial, residential, roll‑off, and container services across a geographically dispersed area. This role supervises drivers and helpers and partners with the Operations Manager and General Manager to execute tactical initiatives that drive functional excellence and achieve budget goals. A core responsibility is ensuring safety compliance by leading accident‑prevention programs, removing unsafe conditions from routes, and coordinating with maintenance to keep equipment in safe working order. The supervisor fosters a culture of safety through active employee engagement and personal commitment to safe operations. The supervisor is tasked with delivering a superior customer experience by meeting missed‑pickup targets, resolving unusual service requests, equipment breakdowns, and schedule changes, and representing the company positively to build customer loyalty. Operational efficiency is driven by establishing productivity goals, managing labor hours and disposal expenses, optimizing routes for density, and supporting fleet maintenance to meet or exceed division budgeted objectives. Employee engagement is cultivated by creating a collaborative team environment, developing talent, understanding career goals, and providing coaching to prepare staff for advancement within the company. • Lead and supervise drivers and helpers across multiple hauling service lines. • Ensure safety compliance, remove unsafe conditions, and maintain equipment per safety standards. • Deliver superior customer experience by meeting pickup goals and handling service exceptions. • Drive operational efficiency by setting productivity targets, managing labor and disposal costs, and optimizing routes. • Foster employee engagement through team collaboration, talent development, and coaching for career advancement. • Manage budgetary goals and support loss‑control programs to achieve division financial targets.
