About the Role
The role works a 7:00 am to 4:00 pm shift with a one‑hour lunch (optional) and focuses on advanced system commissioning using Johnson Controls tools. Responsibilities include loading controller software, performing diagnostics from system‑level controllers to sensors and actuators, troubleshooting HVAC mechanical, electrical and control issues, responding to warranty calls, and completing all required documentation. The technician also calibrates systems, handles administrative tasks such as timesheets and expense reports, and maintains clear communication with contractors, customers and management while adhering to safety standards. • Perform advanced commissioning of HVAC and building automation systems using JCI tools. • Load and update system‑level controller software and conduct diagnostics on sensors and actuators. • Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control issues; respond to warranty calls. • Calibrate systems with electronic test equipment and complete commissioning documentation. • Prepare administrative records including timesheets, expense reports, and as‑built documentation. • Communicate job progress and issues with contractors, customers and management; ensure safety compliance.

What You Bring
Candidates must have at least five years of HVAC or Building Automation Systems experience and four years of commissioning electronic or mechanical systems. A strong technical aptitude, proficiency with hand and power tools, basic computer skills, and the ability to use test equipment and commissioning software are essential. Effective communication, a high level of knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical circuitry and controls, and the capacity to mentor entry‑level technicians are also required. Preferred experience includes BACnet, Metasys, and IP networking. • Apply at least 5 years of HVAC/BAS experience and 4 years of commissioning experience. • Utilize hand and power tools, test equipment, and commissioning software with strong technical aptitude. • Demonstrate effective communication, mentoring of junior technicians, and knowledge of HVAC controls and circuitry.
