About the Role
Responsibilities include reading and interpreting blueprints, ISO field installations, material takeoffs and sketches, and following specifications. The pipefitter fabricates and installs various pipe types—including screw, socket‑weld, stainless tubing, carbon steel weld, and stainless steel weld—performs mitering, beveling, and layout for pipe penetrations, and installs piping in racks, valves, hangers, supports, underground pipe, steam and heat tracing, and properly bolts pipe and valve flanges. They also assist other craft workers as needed. • Read and interpret blueprints, ISO installations, material takeoffs, and field sketches. • Fabricate and install screw, socket‑weld, stainless tubing, carbon steel weld, and stainless steel weld pipe. • Perform mitering, beveling, and layout for pipe penetrations. • Install piping in racks, valves, hangers, supports, underground pipe, and steam/heat tracing. • Assist other craft workers as needed. • Use hand and power tools (electric, gas, pneumatic) and operate climbing equipment.

What You Bring
The Pipefitter must understand test piping systems, oxygen and acetylene cutting, basic rigging, operation of pneumatic and electric tools, and leak test‑tubing systems. They must learn all safety hazards associated with the work and use equipment safely. The role can be based in plant operations or on a construction jobsite. Physical demands require the ability to push, pull, lift or carry up to 50 lb regularly and up to 100 lb occasionally, perform repetitive hand/arm and leg motions, maintain hand‑eye coordination, and communicate verbally. The job may involve sedentary to heavy work, use of hand and power tools, climbing, balancing on scaffolds, frequent grasping and carrying, prolonged bending, twisting, crawling, kneeling, reaching overhead, squatting, and walking on uneven or muddy surfaces, as well as confined spaces and adverse weather. Mentally, the pipefitter must communicate effectively with supervisors, read and write instructions, perform math calculations, work at varying tempos while staying focused, make decisions, and be detail‑oriented, remembering and observing details. • Bolt pipe and valve flanges of various sizes. • Lift/carry up to 50 lb (occasionally up to 100 lb) and perform repetitive hand/arm motions. • Work on uneven, muddy, or loose surfaces and in confined spaces; tolerate adverse weather. • Communicate effectively, read/write instructions, perform calculations, and maintain detail orientation.
