About the Role
The CNC Machinist is responsible for setting up and operating CNC machine tools to produce life‑support, air‑to‑air refueling, and personal survival equipment systems. The role includes inspecting parts, obtaining first‑article approval, and performing a full range of machining operations such as turning, drilling, boring, facing, forming, reaming, tapping, threading, knurling, slotting, burnishing, chamfering, and deburring. The machinist must interpret blueprints, models, analysis sheets, sketches, and oral instructions to ensure product quality, and also operate associated manual machines and 5‑axis mill and mill‑turn equipment while performing routine maintenance. • Set up and operate 3‑, 4‑, and 5‑axis CNC mills, mill‑turns, and lathe machines. • Perform machining processes including turning, drilling, boring, facing, forming, reaming, tapping, threading, knurling, slotting, burnishing, chamfering, and deburring. • Inspect completed parts and obtain first‑article approval when required. • Read and interpret blueprints, models, analysis sheets, sketches, CMM/layout reports, and oral/written instructions. • Operate manual machines such as drill presses, milling machines, and saws as needed. • Program and run Mazatrol and EIA CNC controls; conduct routine machine maintenance.

What You Bring
A high school diploma or GED is required, and candidates must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future. No relocation assistance is offered, and applicants must reside within 70 miles of Davenport, IA unless they are active‑duty military members, who are exempt from the geographic limitation. The position involves handling ITAR‑controlled information, so all applicants must be U.S. persons as defined by ITAR. Candidates need at least three years of experience setting up and operating CNC mills and lathe machines, including 4‑ and 5‑axis machining of tightly toleranced medical or military parts. Experience must include reading and interpreting diverse technical documents such as blueprints, models, analysis sheets, CMM/layout reports, and GD&T datums, as well as operating Mazak and Mazatrol‑controlled equipment and performing CNC programming or related processes. • Hold a high school diploma or GED; must be a U.S. person eligible under ITAR and reside within 70 mi of Davenport, IA (military exemption applies). • Minimum three years experience with CNC setup/operation, 4‑5 axis machining, GD&T, and Mazak/Mazatrol equipment.
