About the Role

Drivers must follow WM safety rules, OSHA and DOT regulations, and all applicable laws. They complete pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections, document findings, and immediately report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions to management or dispatch. Ongoing training, briefings, and meetings are required, and drivers work with Operations Managers to improve route efficiency and address customer requests. At the end of each shift they complete documentation, check‑out procedures, and may assist fellow drivers as needed. • Perform pre‑ and post‑trip vehicle inspections and complete Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports. • Report unsafe conditions, incidents, or service interruptions immediately to Operations Manager or Dispatch. • Attend scheduled trainings, briefings, and meetings; apply best practices to improve route efficiency. • Communicate customer requests and ensure receptacles are emptied cleanly, leaving sites debris‑free. • Complete end‑of‑day documentation, check‑out procedures, and assist fellow drivers as needed. • Participate in 401(k) match, stock purchase plan, and discounted stock options. • Perform physical tasks including lifting containers over 1,000 lb and operating in tight or overhead environments.

What You Bring

Drivers operate heavy‑duty trucks equipped with load‑lift attachments, transporting waste or recyclables to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities. The role includes commercial, residential, and roll‑off driving, each requiring navigation of congested roads, alleys, and tight spaces, with strong backing skills. Candidates must hold a Class A or B CDL with air‑brake endorsement, have at least one year of commercial driving experience (or recent military driving), be at least 18 years old, and be legally eligible to work. A high school diploma or GED is preferred. The position involves physical tasks such as standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, crouching, reaching, and handling containers that can exceed 1,000 pounds, as well as sitting, talking, and hearing in various environments.
