About the Role
The position involves overseeing the complete project lifecycle, from option studies and design through procurement, construction and commissioning, while providing client‑side leadership and ensuring projects meet quality, cost and schedule targets. • Lead delivery of multi‑disciplinary, complex water projects within collaborative teams. • Mentor and support project managers, graduates and apprentices. • Establish and maintain governance structures, defining clear roles and responsibilities. • Manage client‑side elements including stakeholder engagement, health & safety, risk, quality, schedule and contracts. • Ensure projects meet client expectations for quality, cost and timeline. • Provide resources and oversight to project teams to satisfy client and business needs. • Oversee subcontractor performance and remote resources. • Build strong relationships with clients and cross‑functional team members. • Pursue business development opportunities with existing and new clients. • Coordinate submission of project‑management bids.

What You Bring
We are seeking senior and associate project managers with a proven track record in water‑sector delivery to join our Infrastructure Project Management team. The roles support the £88 bn AMP8 investment programme across the North, Midlands and Scotland regions, as well as national government projects, operating from eight regional offices. Successful candidates will have several years of consulting‑focused project‑management experience, familiarity with NEC contracts (especially PSC and ECC), strong stakeholder and risk management capabilities, and a demonstrated ability to build collaborative relationships with clients and multidisciplinary teams. • Infrastructure project‑management experience, preferably in the water sector. • Experience with NEC contracts (PSC, ECC) and NEC accreditation preferred. • Proven ability to work in integrated, multi‑organisation collaborative teams. • Excellent communication and organisational skills. • Strong industry network and relationship‑building capability. • Ability to work autonomously while collaborating with senior managers. • Team‑player attitude with flexibility, diplomacy and professionalism. • Experience working within a client organisation or on‑site secondments. • Proficient in modern IT and digital tools. • Strong numeracy, verbal and written communication abilities. • Experience preparing bid submissions. • Effective client‑relationship management internally and externally. • Prior team and line‑management experience demonstrating clear leadership. • Minimum six years of consulting experience delivering full‑spectrum project‑management services. • Relevant degree (project management, engineering, environmental science, construction) or equivalent industry experience. • Demonstrated competence in NEC3/NEC4 contract management. • Project‑management certification (APM PMQ, PRINCE2) desirable. • Membership of a chartered professional body (APM, CIOB, ICE, RICS) desirable. • Ability to complete required security screening checks.
