About the Role

The Design Engineer, Item management is responsible for sourcing engineering and technical review for supplier details, comparing key component information, and supporting spare parts review throughout the item lifecycle. The role works closely with the Aftermarket Sourcing team on initiatives such as supplier consolidation, cost saving, and net working capital optimization. • Validate and analyze supplier data and technical specifications for key components and spare parts throughout the item lifecycle. • Perform specification reviews and ensure supplier components meet engineering and quality standards. • Identify and recommend appropriate spare parts for engines, transmissions, and axles used in LOHA machines. • Conduct data audits, clean‑up activities, and maintain accurate item records in Teamcenter, ERP and SAP systems. • Create and manage items end‑to‑end in Teamcenter, including Bill of Materials handling and attribute management. • Collaborate with the LOHA aftermarket team, mechanical/electrical engineers, OEMs and suppliers on technical reviews. • Support strategic aftermarket initiatives such as supplier consolidation, cost‑saving projects and net working capital optimization. • Apply strong analytical skills to compare OEM component specifications and suggest necessary changes.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering and 2‑3 years of experience in item lifecycle management, preferably within mining or heavy‑machinery environments. Proficiency with Teamcenter, NX, Bill of Materials management, and solid knowledge of loaders, trucks, engines, transmissions and axles is required. The position demands strong analytical, problem‑solving, verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse global teams and maintain effective working relationships. • Communicate effectively with global and cross‑functional teams, both verbally and in writing. • Demonstrate commitment to safety, compliance and independent project execution in dynamic environments. • Possess 2‑3 years of experience in item lifecycle management within mining or heavy‑industry contexts. • Hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering and proficiency with Teamcenter, NX and BoM management.
