As an engineering inspector you will receive exceptional training and career development while working under experienced field engineers on challenging projects. You will perform field inspections, design calculations, verify dimensions and project data, and examine workmanship for conformity to standards, all under the supervision of a field engineer, project manager, or senior‑level team member. The ideal candidate can establish and maintain positive communication among technicians, engineers, contractors, and the public, and can communicate clearly, concisely, and persuasively. They must be able to work nights and weekends as required throughout North Carolina, apply safety philosophy to all operations, and work safely in outdoor environments with hazards such as heights, highway traffic, and rough terrain. The role also requires moderate physical activity, the ability to lift up to 50 lb, close visual acuity for plan review, and a valid NC driver’s license. Preferred qualifications include at least two years of related experience, a high school diploma, flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities, the ability to take direction and provide guidance, and a valid NC driver’s license.

The salary range for this position is $50,000–$80,000, dependent on experience and geographic location.
