About the Role

In this role, the associate operates one or two pieces of equipment—such as a baler, front‑end loader, bobcat, densifier, or forklift—to transport and bind paper or other loose materials, facilitating efficient material handling within the plant. • Sort and grade material. • Fill and operate candensifier. • Record materials received or distributed and mark them with identifying information. • Maintain inventory records. • Compile worksheets or tickets from customer specifications. • Ensure material is fed properly onto conveyor. • Coordinate flow of material. • Start baler on time, monitor functions, respond to prompts and alarms, and ensure proper operation. • Monitor and document downtime. • Ensure safety around working areas. • Check quality of material before baling or shipping. • Coordinate with MRF Manager on material needing baling or shipping. • Perform routine maintenance and daily inspection of equipment, including lubricating, fueling, and cleaning. • Keep supply of wire on hand for baler. • Operate loader, forklift, bobcat, or other equipment to move material to designated areas. • Keep surrounding work areas clean. • Unload, tag, and stack material in proper rows using lifting devices. • Load or unload materials into or out of trailers and railcars. • Move material from baler. • Dump containers, bins, and gaylords of materials. • Read loading, unloading sheets and bills of lading. • Complete load and unload tally sheets. • Inspect and grade wastepaper received at plant. • Complete vehicle condition reports per corporate guidelines. • Comply with all safety policies and procedures.
