About the Role
The Assistant Construction Manager (ACM) supports the Construction Manager in delivering safe, high‑quality projects on time and within budget. This field‑focused role assists with daily construction activities, supervision, risk minimization, and balancing scope, schedule, budget, and quality. The ACM also contributes to planning, execution, controls, and project closeout. • Support and coordinate daily field construction activities. • Administer subcontracts, purchase orders, and project documentation. • Monitor construction progress against scope, budget, schedule, and quality. • Manage subcontractor performance, material, equipment, and vendor coordination. • Prepare, review, and route RFIs and submittals for constructability and compliance. • Track budget, update schedules, and support quality management efforts. • Implement and enforce QA/QC standards. • Ensure HSE compliance and oversee subcontractor safety initiatives. • Prepare and update project schedules, pay applications, status reports, and progress documentation. • Set up temporary facilities and manage site logistics. • Support crane operations, heavy lifts, and heavy haul activities. • Maintain field document control and accurate daily records. • Produce daily reports, progress photos, and field activity documentation. • Communicate schedule requirements and milestone dates. • Develop and update short‑interval (3–4 week look‑ahead) schedules. • Track and report Physical Percent Complete (PPC). • Hands‑on construction, supervision, and management of combined‑cycle power plant projects.

Travel is required for this position, with up to 100% of time potentially spent away from the home office. The role may involve frequent site visits and on‑site presence across project locations. • 10+ years progressive field experience in the power delivery industry, including union power generation projects. • Strong organizational and communication skills; high school diploma required. • Preferred: civil, earthwork, and concrete construction background; current union membership; field team supervision experience. • Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field; OSHA 30 certification; apprenticeship program graduate. • Preferred: Experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, Primavera P6, estimating, and project management software. • Skills: relationship building, team leadership, self‑motivation, problem‑solving, decision‑making, knowledge of construction means and methods, EPC and Design‑Build delivery. • Proficiency with MS Office and cloud‑based systems.

Work Environment
Field
