About the Role

The General Repair Technician III is responsible for operating and maintaining facility mechanical and supporting systems, performing structured inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance, and responding to routine and on‑demand service requests. The position works closely with all BGIS departments to support an integrated approach to building operations and must comply with environmental, health, safety, and fire‑protection requirements. • Ensure safety ownership and comply with all environmental, health, safety, and fire‑protection regulations. • Perform regular inspections, preventative and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing and other building equipment to meet uptime objectives. • Respond promptly to service requests and on‑call/emergency call‑outs, prioritizing critical equipment to minimize tenant disruptions. • Lead technical oversight, maintain tools, document findings, and provide improvement recommendations. • Conduct comprehensive equipment inspections, record results in a technical checklist/database, and prioritize repairs and upgrades. • Enhance tenant experience by ensuring reliable equipment operation and collaborating with facility management to reduce disruptions. • Communicate equipment status clearly to internal teams and vendors, and escalate critical issues promptly. • Manage the work‑order lifecycle, coordinate with the CMMS team, and ensure work meets quality and contractual standards. • Oversee budgetary aspects, submit expenditures, solicit and evaluate technical quotes, and pursue cost‑effective solutions. • Supervise external vendors and contractors, holding them to high technical standards for equipment integrity.

What You Bring

• Maintain at least a high school diploma with trades training or certification, and a minimum of three years’ experience in HVAC, pneumatic or hydraulic system maintenance. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of facility operations, building automation systems, and a proactive health‑safety mindset. • Possess effective communication and mentoring skills to support junior technicians. • Hold a Building Operator Certification or equivalent accreditation; be able to obtain required security clearance and wear PPE as mandated.
