About the Role

All work must be performed in accordance with safety and hazardous‑waste handling guidelines. The employee is required to wear the prescribed personal protective equipment, observe project safety rules, and may be tasked with asbestos removal under controlled procedures. Routine housekeeping, tool maintenance, and accurate record‑keeping are also expected. • Read and interpret blueprints, instructions, and documentation to plan work activities. • Determine required insulation material (sheet, tubular, roll) based on heat retention, location, surface, shape, and equipment use. • Transport materials and equipment to work sites and set up the work area. • Cover, seal, or finish insulated surfaces or access holes using plastic covers, canvas strips, sealants, tape, cement, or asphalt mastic. • Fit insulation around obstructions and shape insulating materials and protective coverings as needed. • Install sheet metal around insulated pipes with screws to protect insulation from weather and damage. • Measure and cut insulation for covering surfaces using tape measures, handsaws, knives, and scissors. • Prepare surfaces for insulation by applying adhesives, cement, or asphalt, or attaching metal pins. • Secure insulation with preformed plastic covers, canvas strips, sealant, or tape using staple gun, trowel, paintbrush, or caulking gun. • Follow all hazardous waste handling guidelines. • Remove or seal off old asbestos insulation following safety procedures. • Complete records, maintain tools and equipment, and perform cleanup and housekeeping activities. • Observe and comply with all safety and project rules, including wearing required personal protective equipment; perform other duties as required.
