Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor – Data Center Construction

About the Role
• Lead cost control for large‑scale, multi‑phase data centre construction projects. • Develop and maintain cost plans, estimates, budgets and cash‑flow forecasts. • Monitor cost performance, compare actuals to forecasts and report variances. • Review and validate change orders and payment applications for documentation and compliance. • Assist procurement: bid analysis, vendor pre‑qualification, contractor negotiations and bid leveling. • Prepare cost reports, forecasts and executive dashboards for client presentations. • Track contingencies, commitments and cost impacts across project packages. • Support risk analysis, mitigation planning and maintain commercial risk registers. • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and participate in governance meetings. • Implement and improve cost‑management tools, templates and reporting standards. • Manage final accounting, post‑contract audits and lessons‑learned reviews. • Adhere to SOX control requirements where applicable.

What You Bring
The role is for an experienced Cost Manager / Quantity Surveyor who will act as the day‑to‑day client interface on a large‑scale, mission‑critical data‑centre programme. The successful candidate will ensure the project is delivered on time, within budget and to the highest standards, providing leadership, commercial rigour and strong stakeholder engagement while championing Turner & Townsend’s purpose, values and vision. The position is part of the Real Estate department and may require on‑site presence, which can change depending on client needs. • Minimum 3–6 years of cost management or project controls experience in construction, preferably data centres. • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering or related field; graduate degree preferred. • Strong knowledge of cost management processes, change order review, cash‑flow forecasting and reporting. • Experience with procurement strategies, value engineering and risk management; RICS accreditation a plus. • Proficient in cost‑management software and advanced Excel/data analysis. • Excellent communication, organizational and stakeholder management abilities.
