About the Role

As a Painter at Weidner in Deforest, WI, you will be responsible for painting interior and exterior areas of the community. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, move‑in ready homes. Successful candidates manage time effectively, are detail‑oriented, trustworthy team players and take pride in their work. They also provide excellent customer service when interacting with residents, associates and vendors. The Painter will paint the interior of homes and the exterior of buildings, selecting the correct products and working efficiently as directed by management. Duties include detailed carpentry, drywall repair, and both interior and exterior painting, as well as responding promptly to cosmetic painting service requests for occupied units. Additional tasks involve participating in property improvement projects, preventive maintenance, and distinguishing between full‑paint and touch‑up needs, including selecting appropriate sheen and color. Daily grounds maintenance such as trash removal, pet waste cleanup, and sweeping walkways ensures market‑ready apartments, common areas and amenities meet Weidner’s quality standards. • Paint interior walls of homes and exterior of buildings using appropriate products. • Perform carpentry and drywall repairs as part of painting projects. • Respond promptly to cosmetic painting service requests for occupied units. • Participate in scheduled property improvements and preventive maintenance tasks. • Determine when full paint or touch‑up is needed and select correct sheen and color. • Maintain daily grounds by removing trash, cleaning pet waste, and sweeping walkways. • Ensure apartments, common areas, and amenities meet quality standards before move‑in. • Lift and carry up to 80 lb, climb ladders and stairs, and operate a dolly for loads up to 200 lb. • Work outdoors in all weather conditions and remain on feet for entire shift. • Complete tasks safely, efficiently, and in a fast‑paced environment. • Adhere to Weidner’s mission, policies, Fair Housing, and local, state, and federal laws. • Maintain regular attendance, wear uniform, and present a professional appearance.

What You Bring

Candidates must have 1‑2 years of painting and drywall experience and be able to lift up to 80 pounds, climb ladders and stairs, and operate an appliance dolly pulling up to 200 pounds. The role requires working outdoors in all weather conditions, standing for entire shifts, and completing tasks safely and efficiently in a fast‑paced environment. Strong communication skills, basic proficiency with Microsoft Office, and the ability to learn Yardi, Paycom, and other software are preferred. Compliance with Weidner’s mission, policies, Fair Housing laws, reliable attendance, uniform standards, and a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance are also required, along with background and drug testing agreements. • Communicate professionally in person, phone, email, and text. • Use Microsoft Office applications; willingness to learn Yardi, Paycom, and other software. • Possess a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and insurance; have reliable transportation.
