About the Role

The Application Engineer provides safety precautions and performs calculations during FEED, quotation, and pre‑order stages, following company guidelines to achieve acceptable solutions for complex technical issues. They may act as lead engineer on larger, complex projects and develop detailed designs for the specified products while collaborating across business units to align with complete DC solutions. The role also determines, instructs, and drives the technical quality and content of the quotation process. Additionally, the engineer analyses electrical or mechanical faults, advises customers on technical solutions, and ensures proposals do not compromise the company’s image or financial position. A deep understanding of MV switchgear and transformer design requirements—including IEC 62271‑1, IEC 60076, EN 50588, and EU 548‑2014—is required to support tendering activities such as rating, system description, arc protection, temperature protection, and vibration insulation. The engineer develops pipelines through demand creation on strategic DC accounts, participates in market analysis, and contributes to new product development (Gate 0) while evaluating segment risks. They lead technical evaluation, feasibility, clarification, and execution of multiple projects in parallel, meeting quotation return dates. • Provide safety precautions and calculations during FEED, quotation, and pre‑order stages. • Lead large and complex projects as the Application Engineer. • Create detailed designs and collaborate across business units for complete DC solutions. • Drive technical quality and content of the quotation process. • Apply MV switchgear and transformer design standards (IEC 62271‑1, IEC 60076, EN 50588, EU 548‑2014). • Support tendering by addressing customer requirements such as rating, arc protection, temperature, and vibration insulation. • Develop demand pipelines on strategic DC accounts and framework agreements. • Participate in market analysis, new product development (Gate 0), and segment risk evaluation. • Analyse electrical/mechanical faults and propose technical solutions with sales management. • Advise on third‑party equipment, material costs, and engineering effort for competitive quotations.
