About the Role

The Fleet Maintenance Supervisor reports to the Maintenance Manager and oversees a maintenance shop that supports post‑collection facilities, container shops, and a diverse fleet of diesel and alternative‑fuel trucks, containers, and heavy‑duty equipment. The role ensures all repair and preventive‑maintenance activities comply with company safety standards, as well as federal and state regulations. Key duties include directing A, B, and C‑level technicians, conducting daily shop huddles, and providing coaching, counseling, and performance evaluations. The supervisor plans and schedules maintenance work to minimize downtime, performs inspections of both internal and external repairs, and oversees complex diagnostics and road testing. Inventory management, expense control, and accurate record‑keeping in the Dossier Maintenance Software are also core responsibilities. • Lead and supervise A, B, and C‑level technicians, conduct daily shop huddles, coaching, and performance evaluations. • Plan and schedule preventive maintenance and repairs for fleet trucks, containers, and heavy‑duty equipment. • Perform inspections of internal and external repairs to ensure compliance with safety, OSHA, DOT, and environmental regulations. • Oversee complex diagnostics, road‑test vehicles, and provide technical coaching on advanced systems. • Manage inventory control, parts procurement, and monitor expenses within approved budget limits. • Maintain detailed records in Dossier Maintenance Software, handle payroll, and prepare departmental budgets.

What You Bring

The position requires a high school diploma or GED, ASE certifications (including T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7) and preferably Master Certified status. Candidates must have at least three years of heavy‑equipment maintenance experience and one year in a supervisory or lead‑technician role, with a solid understanding of DOT, OSHA, and other regulatory requirements. • Require high school diploma/GED, ASE certifications (T2, T3, T4, T5, T6, T7) and Master Certified preferred. • Minimum of 3 years heavy‑equipment maintenance experience and 1 year supervisory experience with strong regulatory knowledge.
