About the Role
The Transport & Infrastructure business manages and maintains road networks across Australia and New Zealand and delivers civil and commercial construction in New Zealand, leveraging trans‑Tasman capabilities to deliver optimal technical solutions for customers and communities. • Provide technical and operational support to ensure maintenance works meet safety, quality, and asset performance standards. • Develop accurate scopes, work programs, and cost estimates for maintenance and minor capital works. • Conduct site inspections, validate repairs, and analyse asset performance data to inform strategies. • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to optimise delivery and resolve technical issues. • Identify and implement process improvements that enhance efficiency and reduce rework. • Interpret technical standards and apply them to achieve required operational outcomes. • Commit to delivering quality outcomes on time and in full. • Maintain a strong safety focus and actively support Downer Zero Harm initiatives.

What You Bring
The company is hiring a Maintenance Engineer to join the Maintenance & ITS business in Murray Bridge or Walkley Heights. The role suits candidates with 1‑3 years’ experience in the roads industry, preferably with exposure to road maintenance projects. • Be available to work away from home when required. • Hold a degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline. • Have 2–3 years of experience in maintenance engineering or asset management, preferably in road or civil infrastructure. • Demonstrate a strong understanding of planning, execution, and financial reporting of projects. • Communicate, engage, and influence outcomes through high levels of teamwork.
