About the Role

The role involves observing and documenting construction field activities, sampling and testing a variety of materials such as soils, concrete and steel, and performing calculations and data reduction to produce reports. The associate will operate field screening equipment, read maps and interpret engineering plans, and maintain daily communication with contractors, technicians, and project managers while representing ECS on site. • Observe and document field activities during construction. • Sample, test, and inspect soils, aggregates, concrete, grout, masonry, asphalt, and structural steel. • Perform calculations, reduce test data, and draft technical reports. • Operate field screening equipment and record readings. • Read maps, follow directions, and interpret engineering and construction plans. • Communicate daily with contractors, technicians, and project managers. • Serve as the sole ECS representative on project sites. • Provide reliable transportation for site travel (mileage reimbursed).

What You Bring

Candidates should be actively pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related discipline and show an interest in how building materials are used in construction. The position requires the ability to lift 40–70 lb repeatedly, occasionally handling up to 85 lb, and reliable personal transportation to job sites, with mileage reimbursement provided. • Pursue a B.S. or M.S. in civil engineering, construction management, or related field. • Lift 40–70 lb repeatedly and occasionally 85 lb to waist height.
