About the Role

The role supports WM Renewable Energy by leading front‑end development and execution of projects that capture and utilize biogas from municipal solid‑waste landfills and organics digesters. Projects may generate power, produce renewable natural gas, or capture carbon dioxide to lower greenhouse‑gas emissions, with a primary focus on power development and utility‑side interconnections. The position oversees utility‑side infrastructure projects from planning through commissioning, ensuring alignment with project goals, regulatory compliance, and budget constraints. • Manage new service applications and interconnect requests for power and gas utilities. • Conduct capacity, engineering, and service studies and design utility‑side infrastructure upgrades. • Coordinate integration of utility infrastructure with new facilities. • Review and execute interconnection and service agreements. • Oversee permitting, right‑of‑way, and easement acquisition for infrastructure projects. • Lead construction and commissioning of utility upgrades within budget and schedule. • Maintain relationships and collaboration with utility partners. • Supervise contractors, utilities, and internal specialists to meet deliverables. • Align with project management, design management, and controls for scope, budget, and schedule compliance. • Participate in a stock purchase plan and company‑matched 401(k).

What You Bring

Ideal candidates possess a relevant engineering background, extensive experience in power or gas project development, and strong computer proficiency, with willingness to travel as needed. • Hold a bachelor’s degree (or high school diploma + 4 years experience); preferred engineering disciplines. • Have at least 10 years of relevant experience in project development, power transmission, gas pipelines, renewable natural gas, or landfill operations. • Proficient with computers and relevant software. • Travel approximately 20 % of the time.
