About the Role

The Mechatronics & Robotics Technician supports the Operations Maintenance Team by repairing and maintaining material handling equipment and pneumatic systems throughout our facilities. The role also includes installing, maintaining, and repairing automated packaging and distribution equipment. This position plays a critical part in keeping our building operations running smoothly and efficiently. Key duties include promoting a safe work environment, completing preventative maintenance routines with proper documentation, and troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems on material handling equipment such as belts, motors, sensors, and relays. Technicians also create, assign, and close work orders while tracking labor hours, parts usage, and department inventory. In addition, they mentor junior staff and maintain positive relationships across the operations facility. • Promote a safe working environment by following all safety procedures. • Perform preventative maintenance routines and document all work performed. • Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on material handling equipment (belts, motors, sensors, relays, etc.). • Create, assign, and close work orders while tracking labor hours, parts used, and equipment maintenance. • Track and manage department inventory. • Mentor junior technicians to develop their skills. • Maintain positive communication across the operations facility. • Conduct predictive and preventative maintenance for 2+ years.

What You Bring

Candidates must have a high school diploma or equivalent, at least two years of experience repairing material handling equipment or automated conveyor systems, and a similar amount of experience performing predictive and preventative maintenance. Competence in reading blueprints and electrical schematics, as well as knowledge of electrical and electronic principles, is required. Preferred qualifications include an associate degree in a mechanical or electrical field, familiarity with MHE safety standards and robotic operation, and the ability to troubleshoot basic I/O functions. The role demands physical ability to reach overhead, kneel, squat, climb ladders or aerial lifts, and regularly lift up to 50 lb of equipment while wearing required personal protective equipment. Employees must be comfortable moving between departments, floors, and properties, covering 6‑12 miles per day, and working in a warehouse environment with fluctuating temperatures. Typical computer use is limited to 1‑2 hours per day for work order entry. • Hold a high school diploma or equivalent with 2+ years of MHE repair experience. • Read blueprints and electrical schematics (1+ year experience). • Apply knowledge of electrical and electronic principles. • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) and Microsoft Office suite proficiently. • Possess an associate degree in a mechanical or electrical field (preferred). • Understand MHE safety standards and OEM guidelines (preferred). • Experience with robotic operation and maintenance (preferred). • Demonstrate ability to troubleshoot basic input/output functions (preferred). • Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lb, climbing ladders, and working overhead positions. • Wear required personal protective equipment (hard hat, face shield, composite toe shoes, etc.).
