About the Role
The engineer will manage project design and development for new or existing generator set products, serving as the technical authority and primary engineering point‑of‑contact for a key direct account. Responsibilities include overseeing control systems, wiring harnesses, electrical diagrams, transformers, protective relays, and other electrical components, as well as verifying manufacturer drawings for compliance with specifications, codes, and contracts. • Lead design and development of generator set control systems, wiring harnesses, and related electrical components for key accounts. • Serve as primary engineering point‑of‑contact for RRSA design activities and support the project manager. • Verify manufacturer drawings and ensure compliance with design specifications, codes, and contracts. • Research engineering standards, perform calculations, and produce accurate electrical schematics. • Prepare equipment specifications and select effective design concepts for new or improved products. • Review customer specifications versus MTU designs, categorize compliance, and secure client approval before design freeze. • Follow ERP and quality‑system procedures, promoting compliance with the Rolls‑Royce Code of Conduct. • Perform special projects and support the Project Systems Execution team as required.

Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering and have either 5 + years of relevant experience (or 9 + years without a degree), be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship, and be willing to travel up to 30 % for business. Preferred qualifications include deep knowledge of diesel and gas engines, AC power systems, strong communication and leadership abilities, and proficiency with AutoCAD, PLC programming, SAP/Windchill, and OSHA30 certification. • Hold a B.S. in Electrical Engineering with 5+ years (or 9+ years) of relevant engineering experience. • Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and able to travel up to 30% for business. • Demonstrate strong knowledge of diesel/gas engines, AC power systems, and ability to read line, ladder, and point‑to‑point diagrams. • Exhibit excellent oral and written communication, leadership, negotiation, and problem‑solving skills. • Proficient in AutoCAD LT/Electrical, PLC programming, MS Office, SAP/Windchill; OSHA30 certified.
