About the Role
In this position, the trainer leads electrical apprenticeship training across classroom and field environments, partners with project teams to align schedules and resources, and ensures compliance with documentation and curriculum standards. • Deliver NCCER electrical modules, assessments, and performance profiles. • Schedule classroom instruction, online assessments, and field evaluations with project leadership. • Ensure training resources (tools, books) are available for all sessions. • Mentor, manage, and audit project‑based instructors and evaluators. • Maintain the master training calendar for the operating group. • Develop project training plans and select electrical apprentices. • Coordinate documentation with Apprenticeship Program Manager and HR. • Administer new apprentice registration documents. • Apply creative presentation and adult‑learning techniques. • Participate in NCCER and industry review committees. • Build relationships with diverse stakeholders across organizational levels.

What You Bring
Mortenson is seeking an experienced Electrical Lead Trainer to coordinate, instruct, and manage the Mortenson Registered Apprenticeship Program. This pivotal role serves as the subject matter expert for curriculum delivery and acts as the primary liaison for operating group leadership teams. Candidates must have at least four years of journeyman‑level electrical experience, a valid journeyman license, and successful completion of the NCCER ICTP. Strong communication, knowledge of adult learning theory, and the ability to travel up to 75% are required. • Possess 4+ years of journeyman or technician‑level electrical experience. • Hold an electrical journeyman license in one or more states. • Completed NCCER ICTP and familiar with OSHA training requirements. • Preferred experience with NCCER curriculum and classroom facilitation. • Demonstrate advanced communication, presentation, and adult learning skills. • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. • Bilingual English/Spanish fluency preferred. • Ability to travel up to 75% and hold a valid driver’s license.
