About the Role
Role Summary: The Senior Project Engineer will manage a small project or a component of a large or more complex project with oversight. This position will fully apply JE Dunn processes and tools to manage aspects of project management, administration and field execution for projects. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn. • Perform safety and quality plan tasks, promoting an injury‑free environment and mentoring peers. • Coordinate QA/QC planning to ensure quality for assigned tasks. • Participate in estimating and change management, including quantity take‑off and subcontractor proposal review. • Monitor on‑site crew size, self‑perform hours, materials, quantities and equipment. • Conduct punch lists, city inspections, safety and quality reviews, and prepare related documentation. • Post updated drawings and specifications. • Organize and lead project meetings, preparing and distributing required documentation. • Prepare daily, weekly, and progress reports, including manpower, production schedules, equipment tracking and percentage complete. • Conduct job‑site observations with project leadership. • Create procurement logs, track shop drawings and follow up on deliveries. • Provide progress updates to support scheduling. • Oversee project close‑out, including punch lists, O&M manuals and as‑built drawings. • Apply best practice standards and construction techniques. • Build relationships and communicate effectively with tradespeople, foremen, superintendents and subcontractors. • Collaborate as a team member and implement Lean practices. • Identify, develop and integrate self‑perform opportunities. • Lead preparation of estimates for base projects, self‑perform work and change requests; define scopes and select subcontractors. • Make decisions on subcontractor and vendor selection. • Coordinate purchase orders for material timing, delivery and product changes. • Manage job set‑up and project administration in CMiC and other technologies. • Lead the submittal process to align with the project schedule. • Prepare and manage the project schedule for assigned portions. • Analyze and report production statistics for key components. • Manage project risks related to subcontractor performance, finances and resources. • Coordinate pre‑planning, post‑construction, monthly review, progress and OAC meetings. • Review and approve monthly subcontractor and vendor pay applications. • Initiate issue‑resolution conversations to foster collaboration. • Lead project close‑out, managing punch lists, quality and cost control, and schedule inspections. • Provide training and mentorship to team members.

What You Bring
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities include the ability to perform work accurately and completely, strong verbal and written communication, proficiency in MS Office and construction technology, understanding of Lean processes, self‑perform and labor productivity, and ability to lead teams, build relationships and maximize profitability. Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering or related field; equivalent experience may be considered. Experience: 3+ years construction experience. Working Environment may require lifting up to 25 pounds, periods of travel or relocation, non‑traditional hours, exposure to extreme conditions, and activity ranging from standing and climbing to occasional sitting at a computer. • Demonstrate understanding of company functions and support roles. • Understand owner contract and subcontract terms and conditions.
