About the Role

The successful candidate will manage project schedules, logistics, safety, quality, and compliance, collaborate with design engineers and project partners, and lead on‑site orientations, planning sessions, and team meetings. • Plan and implement material, equipment, and inspection strategies to support project schedules. • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability. • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers, resolving discrepancies. • Develop and maintain project schedules, including three‑ and six‑week look‑ahead plans. • Create site logistics plans and manage utilization of Mortenson tools and equipment. • Collaborate with project partner superintendents and conduct on‑site orientations, pre‑construction sessions, and site meetings. • Supervise project partners, craft foremen, and crews; handle hiring, transfers, and terminations of craft team members. • Coach and mentor assistant superintendents and other project team members. • Ensure accurate task coding of work hours, track progress, and monitor craft productivity. • Oversee safety, quality, risk, and compliance, and mitigate unfavorable working conditions.

What You Bring

Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent I to coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline, while building strong customer relationships through excellent service. Candidates must hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a construction‑related field or have at least ten years of trade experience, possess a minimum of five years in construction management, a valid driver’s license, and be able to travel up to 100%. • Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural Engineering, Construction Management, or 10+ years of trade experience. • Minimum five years of construction management or related experience. • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%. • Strong organizational, detail‑oriented, and multitasking abilities. • Basic knowledge of construction law and business practices; intermediate Microsoft Office skills. • Excellent communication, active listening, and ability to work with diverse backgrounds. • Understanding of EEO, inclusive behaviors, and affirmative action plans. • Visa sponsorship not available; must be legally authorized to work in the U.S.
