About the Role

The role provides senior leadership within a sector of the organization, ensuring that technical deliverables, infrastructure projects, and programs meet or exceed industry and company standards for design, safety, and functionality. It also drives subject‑matter expertise, innovation, and corporate compliance with local, state, and federal engineering, construction, financial, and safety regulations while addressing current and future challenges in a complex business environment. Key responsibilities include providing proactive strategic leadership for transportation‑related disciplines, leading collaborative interdisciplinary teams, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients. The incumbent will act as the primary liaison with federal, state, and local agencies, clients, subcontractors, and community entities, develop proposals, project scopes, timelines, and budgets, interpret data for regulatory conclusions, and offer high‑level strategic advice. Building a client base, identifying business development opportunities, and adhering to WSP’s Code of Conduct are also essential duties. • Provide proactive strategic leadership for transportation planning, design, and construction projects. • Lead cross‑disciplinary teams to deliver trusted‑advisor services and future‑ready solutions. • Act as primary liaison with federal, state, local agencies, clients, subcontractors, and community groups. • Create and manage project proposals, scopes, timelines, pricing, and budgets in compliance with all regulations. • Analyze and synthesize data, reports, and documents to form sound project and regulatory decisions. • Deliver high‑level strategic advice and written inputs to multi‑disciplinary project teams. • Grow and nurture a client base by identifying business development opportunities and cross‑selling WSP capabilities. • Uphold ethical decision‑making, adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct, and manage company resources responsibly. • Guide mid‑level to senior team members while ensuring strict QA/QC standards. • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of applicable laws, codes, compliance practices, and safety regulations. • Preferred: Manage document review, approvals, certifications, and plans across multiple projects.

What You Bring

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, data sciences, business, urban or transportation planning, or a related field, and possess at least 12 years of relevant experience. Required expertise includes advanced proficiency in infrastructure planning, design, and construction management, strong knowledge of applicable laws and compliance practices, independent leadership with strict QA/QC adherence, and excellent communication and analytical skills. The role also demands a proven safety record, adaptability to changing schedules, occasional travel, and the ability to influence a wide range of stakeholders. • Demonstrate strong leadership, interpersonal communication, and the ability to influence diverse stakeholders. • Exhibit tactical lateral thinking, analytical rigor, and attention to detail under pressure. • Adapt quickly to schedule changes and travel as required for project needs.
