About the Role
The Quality Inspector reports to the site Quality Manager (or Quality Field Operations Manager) and indirectly to the Sr. Manager of Quality Control. The role is responsible for conducting and documenting inspections according to approved Inspection and Test Plans, ensuring reports are accurate, legible and traceable. The inspector must foster positive relationships with owners, their representatives and MasTec site supervision to support overall quality objectives. • Lead scheduled QA/QC meetings, record minutes and maintain deficiency and punch‑list logs. • Review and interpret construction plans and specifications, flagging errors or contradictions for resolution. • Coordinate inspection activities with local, state, and federal agencies as well as third‑party testing labs. • Identify gaps between project specifications and applicable codes, escalating non‑conformance to protect company interests. • Consult with the Director of Quality on issues beyond the inspector’s expertise. • Maintain professional appearance and stay current with required certifications.

What You Bring
The position requires up to 12‑hour shifts, heavy physical work, and the ability to operate in varying weather, heights and confined spaces while wearing required personal protective equipment. Travel can reach 100 % and the schedule typically totals about 50 hours per week, adjusted as project needs dictate. • Minimum 1 year QA/QC experience (or engineering/technical education) plus at least 5 years in construction. • Proficient in Microsoft Office, construction management software, and Bluebeam Revu; preferred Smartsheet and InEight. • Demonstrate self‑motivation, independent work habits, and critical‑thinking to develop corrective actions. • Physical capability to lift 50 lb, climb, kneel, and operate in extreme temperatures while wearing PPE. • Availability for up to 12‑hour shifts, ~50 hours per week, and up‑to‑100 % travel to project sites.
