About the Role
The Tower Technician II installs, maintains, and operates wired, wireless, fiber optic, and microwave telecommunications equipment. Responsibilities include climbing towers, erecting various tower types, off‑loading material, preparing sites, and assisting with antenna and transmission line installations using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles. • Implement MasTec Health Safety and Environmental Policies • Apply industry standards (OSHA, TIA‑10‑48, NATE CTS, ANSI) • Climb towers and ladders at various heights • Erect various tower types • Off‑load material and manage inventory • Prepare and clean job sites • Install new carriers on new builds and existing towers • Assist tower erection using helicopters, cranes, and gin poles • Assemble monopoles, weld and knock‑down self‑support and guyed towers • Install microwave parabolic, VHF, UHF, cellular, and FM broadcast antennas • Install transmission lines and foam/air dielectric coaxial, hardline, and elliptical waveguide • Install foundations, grounding, conduits, and related electrical work • Mentor less‑experienced technicians • Prioritize safety daily • Deliver high‑quality work • Solve complex problems with a hands‑on approach • Read and follow printed instructions

What You Bring
Candidates must prioritize safety, have a high school diploma, and possess at least two years of tower experience. They should be able to read and follow technical prints, understand OSHA and industry standards, lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours, and hold a valid driver’s license; an NWSA certification is a plus. • Hold a high school diploma • Possess at least 2 years of tower experience • Know safety standards and regulations • NWSA certification is a plus • Able to climb towers, lift 50 lb, work up to 12 hours • Valid driver’s license with acceptable record
