About the Role
The Director will oversee all engineering operations, ensuring proper procedures, quality assurance, and adherence to schedules and budgets. Responsibilities include managing proposal development, design execution, research and development, and financial stewardship of the team budget. Leadership duties involve coaching engineers, assigning the right talent to projects, leveraging industry networks to secure work, and maintaining knowledge of emerging technologies and standards. The role also requires interfacing with internal and external stakeholders to drive strategy and execution for the power delivery team. • Build and lead a High Voltage engineering design team for substations and transmission lines in North America. • Manage engineering functions including proposal development, design, QA/QC, and research and development. • Oversee project schedules, budgets, and team performance to ensure timely, profitable delivery. • Leverage industry network to secure new work and expand RRC’s power delivery capabilities. • Coach and mentor engineers, assign resources, and guide project execution. • Develop technical specifications, estimate man‑hours/materials, and coordinate vendor quotations. • Ensure compliance with IEEE, ANSI, NEC, and NESC standards and maintain safety protocols.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering with at least ten years of HV substation or transmission line experience, a Professional Engineering license (or ability to obtain), and five years of personnel and project management experience. Required skills include mastery of IEEE, ANSI, NEC, and NESC codes, strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, and excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s in Engineering with ≥10 years HV substation/transmission experience. • Possess a Professional Engineering license (or ability to obtain) and at least 5 years of personnel management. • Demonstrate strong analytical, problem‑solving, and leadership skills. • Travel up to 10% as needed.
