About the Role
Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent II to coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline, while enhancing customer relationships through excellent service. The role involves planning material, equipment, and inspection schedules, reviewing construction and contract documents for completeness, coordinating with design engineers to resolve discrepancies, and developing project schedules including three‑ and six‑week look‑ahead plans. It also includes creating site logistics plans, managing Mortenson tools and equipment, conducting on‑site orientations and meetings, supervising craft foremen and crews, handling hiring and terminations, coaching team members, ensuring accurate task coding and productivity tracking, leading safety, quality, risk, and compliance efforts, and identifying opportunities for process improvement. • Plan and implement material, equipment, and inspection schedules to align with project timeline. • Review construction and contract documents for completeness and constructability. • Coordinate plans and specifications with design engineers and resolve discrepancies. • Develop and maintain project schedules, including three‑ and six‑week look‑ahead plans. • Create site logistics plans and manage Mortenson tools and equipment utilization. • Conduct on‑site orientations, pre‑construction planning sessions, and project meetings. • Supervise and manage craft foremen, crews, and project partners; handle hiring, transfers, and terminations. • Coach, mentor, and evaluate assistant superintendents and other team members. • Ensure accurate task coding, track work progress, and monitor craft productivity. • Lead safety, quality, risk, and compliance initiatives for the project. • Identify and mitigate unfavorable working conditions and improve processes.

What You Bring
Candidates must have an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction, civil, architectural engineering, or construction management, or ten years of trade experience, along with at least eight years of construction management experience. A valid driver’s license, basic knowledge of construction law, intermediate Microsoft Office skills, a professional attitude, strong customer service, effective communication, active listening, and the ability to travel up to 100% are required, as well as knowledge of equal employment opportunity and affirmative action policies. • Travel up to 100% as required and foster inclusive relationships across diverse backgrounds. • Hold an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction‑related field or 10 years trade experience. • Minimum eight years of construction management experience. • Maintain a valid driver’s license and basic knowledge of construction law. • Proficient in Microsoft Office and possess strong customer‑service and communication skills. • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects from development through closeout.

The base pay range for this position is $126,300‑$189,500, with higher ranges for certain locations, and the role is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
