About the Role

As the leader of the SUE team, you will mentor junior staff, coordinate with internal departments, develop project schedules and budgets, and ensure optimal staff utilization and billing performance. You will also manage client relationships, conduct meetings, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver accurate results. • Mentor and train junior staff, providing constructive feedback. • Coordinate departmental efforts and maintain project revenue targets. • Develop and implement detailed project schedules with APM and Field Supervisor. • Monitor staff field efforts, utilization, and billable hours weekly. • Prepare proposals, expressions of interest, and work authorizations. • Ensure compliance with discipline practices, scientific principles, and regulatory standards. • Organize and maintain project documentation with administrative support. • Lead client and agency meetings, delivering clear project information. • Collaborate with Billing Managers to generate accurate invoices. • Identify and pursue cross‑sell opportunities for additional services. • Manage multiple projects simultaneously while overseeing staff performance. • Obtain necessary permits and certifications from local municipalities. • Maintain a pipeline of project leads through networking and client relationship building. • Work with marketing to develop and deploy promotional initiatives. • Participate in industry groups related to engineering, construction, and utilities. • Set performance goals, conduct reviews, and recommend disciplinary actions when needed. • Review contracts, specifications, cost estimates, and permit requirements. • Oversee project budgets, QC/QA plans, and overall schedule adherence. • Facilitate group conference calls and coordination efforts across teams. • Identify training opportunities to improve staff effectiveness and expertise.

What You Bring

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree (preferred), has at least five years of SUE project management experience, and possesses strong knowledge of NYSDOT regulations, ASCE 38 standards, and related industry codes. Proficiency with MS Office, BlueBeam, Field Aware, and excellent communication and organizational skills are required. • Bachelor’s degree preferred; 5+ years of SUE PM experience. • Knowledge of NYSDOT 18.2.1, 18.3.1, 18.6.1 and OSHA 10/30 certifications. • Strong background in ASCE 38, CGA, PHMSA, and APWA standards. • Proficient in MS Office, BlueBeam, Field Aware, and related software. • Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. • Detail‑oriented with strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
