About the Role

ABM urgently seeks an Assistant Facilities Manager to oversee facility management services across multiple locations, including critical infrastructure at client sites. The role ensures employee safety, protects assets, and maintains client relationships while implementing strategies to enhance infrastructure and meet dynamic customer needs. The successful candidate will lead day‑to‑day operations of critical facilities, supervise a team of coordinators, engineers, technicians and vendors, and act as the single point of contact for all facility issues. Responsibilities include emergency response, inspections, maintenance program development, budget management, vendor oversight, compliance, training, and continuous improvement initiatives. • Lead and support daily operations of critical infrastructure facilities, ensuring reliability and high‑quality service. • Supervise Facility Coordinators, Chief Engineers, technicians, handypersons, and external vendors. • Serve as the primary contact for facility issues, managing customer relationships, schedules, projects, budgets, and staffing. • Direct after‑hours emergency response and conduct regular inspections and audits for regulatory compliance. • Design and execute maintenance strategies, including annual shutdowns and preventive maintenance of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, BAS/BMS, and fire protection systems. • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex problems, and maintain technical documentation and operating procedures. • Develop and manage facility budgets, forecast repairs, and oversee procurement and subcontractor performance against SLAs. • Ensure compliance with safety policies, hazardous material handling, and accurate maintenance logs and safety records. • Provide hands‑on training to operations staff on maintenance, safety, and tool usage, and audit training compliance monthly. • Drive continuous improvement through sustainability initiatives, energy efficiency projects, and CMMS data accuracy audits.

What You Bring

Candidates should have a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, 3–5 years in mission‑critical operations or facility management, and technical knowledge of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, BAS, and BMS systems. Required skills include CMMS proficiency, strong communication, problem‑solving, budgeting, leadership, and the ability to drive cost‑saving improvements. Preferred qualifications include electrical/mechanical experience, building automation expertise, Agile/Scrum familiarity, and certifications such as CPMM or CFM, which can be obtained within 6‑12 months if not already held. • Required experience: 3–5 years in mission‑critical operations/facility management; proficiency with CMMS (e.g., Maximo, 360 Facility) and knowledge of relevant codes and standards. • Preferred experience: electrical or mechanical background, building automation system expertise, and Agile/Scrum familiarity. • Soft skills: strong organizational, communication, problem‑solving, leadership, and analytical abilities. • Desired certifications: CPMM, CFM, or ability to obtain within 6‑12 months.
