About the Role
The Business Class Lead for Dams, Levees, and Civil Works will steer projects across Kentucky and Tennessee, ensuring technical excellence and quality across dam, levee, flood‑risk, and civil‑works initiatives. This senior position guides multi‑disciplinary efforts and aligns project delivery with client expectations. By joining HDR, you will contribute to meaningful change in the waste industry and help shape a sustainable legacy for communities worldwide. • Direct and control quality of dam, levee, civil works, and flood risk projects in Kentucky and Tennessee. • Plan, direct, and oversee large‑scale, multi‑disciplinary projects with high technical complexity. • Build and maintain client relationships; develop project proposals and contract documents. • Mentor mid‑level and junior staff across multiple disciplines. • Oversee planning, design, inspection, and construction management of drainage, flood risk, dam, reservoir, and ecosystem restoration projects. • Coordinate with hydrology, hydraulics, structural, geology, geotechnical, civil, mechanical, CADD, and GIS teams. • Collaborate with regional and corporate technical leads and advisors. • Actively participate in professional or industry associations to enhance HDR’s technical expertise and brand. • Work cooperatively with business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers.

What You Bring
Candidates must hold professional engineering credentials and bring a decade of relevant experience. They should be committed to quality, continuous improvement, and actively embody HDR’s employee‑owned culture. • Leverage expertise in dams, levees, reservoirs, spillways, flood control, water, tidal, coastal, and riverine systems. • Hold a Professional Engineer (PE) license. • Hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering, architecture, or a related field. • Possess at least 10 years of relevant experience. • Maintain a professional/engineering registration with related technical experience. • Experience developing and managing diverse teams.
