About the Role

Mortenson is seeking a Superintendent to coordinate, plan, and supervise assistant superintendents, contractors, and craft activities within a specific discipline area, while developing strong customer relationships. The role includes planning material, equipment, and inspection schedules; reviewing construction documents for completeness and constructability; managing project schedules, site logistics, and tool utilization; and collaborating with partner superintendents. The Superintendent will coach, supervise, and develop team members, conduct orientations, planning sessions, and site meetings, manage task coding, track progress, provide training, and lead performance discussions. Additional duties involve building relationships across diverse backgrounds, providing safety, quality, risk, and compliance oversight, identifying and mitigating issues, and driving process improvements. • Plan and implement material, equipment, and inspection schedules to support project timelines. • Review construction documents for completeness, constructability, and contract compliance. • Develop and manage project schedules, site logistics, and tool/equipment utilization. • Coach, supervise, and develop team members; conduct orientations, planning sessions, and site meetings. • Manage task coding, track work progress, and provide training and career development. • Build effective relationships across diverse backgrounds and organizational levels. • Lead by example, provide coaching, feedback, and performance management. • Oversee safety, quality, risk, and compliance; identify and mitigate unfavorable conditions.

What You Bring

Qualifications include an associate’s or bachelor’s degree in construction‑related fields or ten years of trade experience, a current driver’s license, ability to travel up to 100%, detail‑orientation, basic construction law knowledge, intermediate Microsoft Office skills, and strong communication and customer service abilities. Visa sponsorship is not provided; candidates must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship. Postings are typically open for at least 5 days, averaging 44 days. • Minimum 5 years construction management experience for Superintendent I; minimum 8 years for Superintendent II. • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in construction‑related field or 10 years trade experience. • Current driver’s license and ability to travel up to 100%. • Detail‑oriented with strong organization and multitasking skills. • Basic knowledge of construction law, business practices, and Microsoft Office. • Positive attitude, strong customer service, and effective communication skills.

Two levels are available: Superintendent I (minimum 5 years construction management experience) with a base pay range of $108,600‑$162,900, and Superintendent II (minimum 8 years) with a range of $126,300‑$189,500, adjusted for location and individual factors.
