The incumbent will work with minimal supervision, coordinate schedules, ensure quality control, and mentor CAD staff, applying engineering principles to suggest design improvements. • Implement and manage drafting and plan preparation standards • Partner with staff nationwide on large national clients and projects • Develop technical drawings and plans • Produce and quality-check complex drawings and perform multifaceted calculations • Work with minimal supervision on day-to-day tasks • Apply engineering principles and suggest design changes • Maintain the drawing database • Supervise and train CAD staff • Coordinate work activities to maintain schedules and ensure quality control • Develop familiarity with Kimley-Horn’s practices, procedures, and standards

The role focuses on delivering high-quality civil engineering design services for large national clients. Candidates must have at least ten years of relevant experience, a high school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred), and advanced proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley software. Strong communication, a self-starter attitude, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team are essential, as is a willingness to mentor others. • 10+ years of relevant experience • High school diploma or equivalent (associate’s degree preferred) • Ability to set up and manage printing/plotting settings • Advanced proficiency in Autodesk or Bentley products • Strong work ethic and interpersonal communication/writing skills • Ability to work independently and collaboratively • Willingness to mentor and teach others
