SUE Technician II
Locate and map subsurface utilities using EM, GPR, and vacuum excavation while supervising crew.

About the Role
• Collaborate with a team on diverse utility projects. • Read and interpret utility records, as‑built and survey drawings, and highway design plans. • Designate existing utilities using electromagnetic and geophysical technologies. • Operate and drive a vacuum excavation truck, performing test holes to expose utilities. • Apply appropriate traffic maintenance and process “One‑Call” tickets. • Coordinate survey work related to SUE and supervise field crew activities. • Train junior crew members and represent Colliers in the field, communicating with utility companies.

What You Bring
• Minimum 2 years experience with electromagnetic/geophysical designating technologies; vacuum excavation experience preferred. • Ability to quickly learn new technologies and software; basic computer skills. • Strong communication, collaboration, and safety‑focused mindset. • Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather, walking several miles daily, and lifting equipment up to 80 lb. • Clean driving record with good driving skills; occasional travel, overtime, nights/weekends as needed. • Proficient in English for reading, writing, and verbal instructions.

Benefits
The position offers an hourly wage of $27.00 to $35.00, dependent on qualifications, and requires a pre‑employment drug screen along with participation in the company’s random drug‑and‑alcohol testing program. Candidates must possess a clean driving record and be prepared for occasional travel, overtime, and night or weekend work.
